1) Inquire

We will set up a time to chat on the phone or in person to discuss what’s important to you for your session, answer your questions, and I’ll tell you more about our services and philosophy.

2) Book & Schedule

When you book, we will put you on the calendar for a week after your due date. We know that date may change, so we adjust the date, if need be, once your baby is born.

4) The Photo Session

The session itself is typically very relaxing & low stress for parents, but at the same time, exciting and emotional. As needed, you will feed your baby. While I’m taking photos you are welcome to catch up on some well deserved rest, or anything else you want to catch up on. You are also welcome to watch. Timeframes are flexible as we are playing to your baby’s cues. Tenderness and patience is the name of the game.

5) Post Session Ordering

After the images are edited, we will meet again for you to view the images and place your order. Viewing the images in person for the first time is truly a magical experience. It’s an opportunity for you to relive the moments, and for me to help you plan out how you would like to enjoy, gift, and display the images in your life. Often, my clients don’t have a plan or for how their images would best be printed and displayed, so they appreciate the extra personalized attention and guidance.

6) Receive Your Products

Yay! It's time to hold them in your hands! The timing varies, depending on what you decide to buy. Most turnaround timelines are ~two weeks, and you will receive more details with your order.

Frequently Asked Questions

SCROLL THROUGH OUR FAQS HERE

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-We don't know exactly when our baby will be born. How can we book in advance?
***
A-When you book, we will put you on the calendar for a week after your due date—with the goal of getting your baby in between days 6 and 10. We know that scheduled date may change, so we adjust it, if need be, once your baby is born.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-Do you supply the props?
***
A-Yes. I have lots of props on hand to use. With 8+ years of experience as a professional newborn photographer, investing in props, curating, and envisioning new sets is part of the creative process that makes for amazing images in the end. If there are any special blankets, hats or items that you would like your baby to photographed with, you are welcome to bring them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-Do you offer digital files?
***
A-Yes. They are discounted heavily when bundled with prints and products as an incentive. They are mainly meant for temporary digital sharing, but not for archiving. It's well known that photography clients rarely get around to printing themselves. The strong intention is there, but busy lives dictate that making the decisions about which images to print, at what size, and where to display-- slip through the cracks. This is especially true for new moms and families. Digital technology is not yet archival, so the only way to share them with future generations of family is to print them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-What if my baby has already been born, and I’ve missed the 6-10 day recommended age for a newborn shoot?
***
A-Sometimes things happen, and you come to us late, or your baby is born and has to stay in the NICU for some time. That is okay. We may not be able to get those “just born” looks, poses and temperament-- but we will always get beautiful images.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-Should I be in the photos? I just had a baby, and I’m worried I won’t look good or feel up to it.
***
A-Moms and dads are encouraged to be in the photos, reminding them that their newborn will want to see how their parents looked and interacted with them when they were born. I have invested in an enormous amount of professional development and hands on experience in the area of posing, lighting and photographing adults as well as newborns and children. I promise I will use the techniques I’ve mastered to flatter you. Additionally, you can add on hair and makeup services to add that extra polished touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q-Do you have a studio?
***
A-Yes, in Santa Monica. This is where our newborn sessions typically take place. Here we have an environment conducive to soothing newborns, glorious light and access to all of our props and equipment. Though, if it is important to you to include your home’s decor into the shoot, I do offer in-home sessions for an additional fee.
